No wedding is the same…

Few wedding snapshots

It’s always a pleasure to photograph the big moment in couples life, that is to say their wedding.
I’ve done my share of that, and i’m always amazed by how cool they are every time.
I try not to go for the norm in shooting the “wedding couples photo” – I try to push the edge a little, get the couple to do something that tells how they are if that is possible.
Recently I got a couple to go to Tommy’s Burger Joint before going to their reception and get a burger, fool around a bit and just be them selves.
I think in the years to come that photo will stick with them as well as me.

So, if you are interested in contacting me regarding weddings, I must warn you to be honest. I just don’t take that many church weddings each year. I try to offer my service to people who go for alternative weddings like Asatrú or other things. But I look at each case – church weddings can be cool, but some churches here in Iceland just don’t have the wow factor to make the photos of the ceremony go the extra mile.

Geiri is old school. He studied photography and multimedia while film was still the norm (about a 100 years ago or so) and still picks up his film cameras when he feels like it, or even when the work calls for it - whether it is by request or artistic approach to the subject. Geiri has a BA from PTS and has taken on interns from the scandinavian countries in the last few years. Geiri works as a project manager with Pressphotos in Iceland as well as a photojournalist. In between he takes on work in commercial, portrait, studio and concert photography. Geiri started doing commercial photography at an advertising agency, where he also did layout design and scanning work for a while before he went on to specialize in post-production and multimedia. He worked at multimedia firm Gagarín in Iceland, Spirent plc in the UK, Faroese national broadcaster Kringvarp along with other respected institutions.
